Frequently Asked Questions
Inductive proximity sensors can only detect metallic targets by generating an electromagnetic field. Capacitive sensors can detect both metallic and non-metallic objects (like plastics, liquids, glass, and wood) by measuring changes in electrostatic capacitance.
NPN sensors switch the ground (negative) line to the load, meaning the signal wire goes negative when activated. PNP sensors switch the positive power line to the load, meaning the signal wire goes positive (V+) when activated. Select the type that matches your PLC or controller input.
